In 60's, two teenage lads from Warminster were up on the nearby Cradle Hill every week to watch for UFOs, inspired by a local journalist's book about the flying saucer flap which by that time had been flustering the Wiltshire town for more than a decade. Arthur Shuttlewood's book of 1967 was entitled The Warminster Mystery, and much of the mystery still abounds.
UFO Short Facts
. On July 2, a UFO was tracked at three separate installations; Alamogordo, White Sands, and Roswell. In Roswell, on the same day, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Wilmot saw a UFO. They report its appearance as "two inverted saucers faced mouth to mouth," moving at a high rate of speed over their house.

In 1944 were recorded facts appearance non-aggressive "Foo-fighters" reported buzzing and flying formation with Allied combat airplanes in European and Pacific Theaters of War. Suggestions that they were Axis air weapons were found unconvincing.
One of the most well-documented "close encounters of the third kind" occurred in the Anglican mission village at Boianai, Papua, New Guinea, which was, at the time of the incident, still a territory of Australia at 6:45 P.M., June 26, 1959.

GODMAN AFB is the Air Force Base where Captain Thomas Mantell was requested by the bases control tower to investigate a UFO they had picked up on radar. As a result of this encounter Mantell plane crashed and he was killed. His last message to the control tower was: 'It appears to be metallic object......tremendous in size....directly ahead and slightly above .....I am trying to close for a better look'
MARTIAN ASTRONAUT is A UFO crash which occurred on April 17, 1897, in the town of Aurora, Texas, achieved fame more long-lived than the town itself. The incident, as reported in the April 19 edition of the Dallas Morning News
April 27, 1949. SE of Killeen Base, Camp Hood, Texas (BBU) 9:20 p.m. 2 Army soldiers [Pillett and Belislandro?] on patrol saw a blinking violet object 1-secs 1/2 inches in diameter 10-12 ft away and about 6-7 ft above ground in motion, passing through branches of a tree before disappearing. At 9:25 p.m., 2 miles away 4 Army men sighted a 4-inch bright light, with a 2-4-inch metallic cone trailing in the back, 600 ft away 6-7 ft above ground silently approaching from the NE in level flight at 60-70 mph, disappearing suddenly in the SW at 150 ft away. At 9:37 p.m. the same witnesses saw a 2-inch white light appear 100 ft away to the NNE flying in a zigzag in level flight about 6 ft above ground, disappearing suddenly. Vico, Italy. A man who was fishing in the Serchio River saw a disk hovering for 10 min. From it hung a hose that plunged into the water. The object was 20 m in diameter, with five propellers in the rear and a dome with something like blades on top. An orange glow could be seen through slits along the deck. A man wearing a diving helmet looked at the witness through a window, and he received a kind of electric shock as a "green ray" hit him.
